Orvieto Scavenger Hunt
When you travel to Orvieto with Adventures in Italy, you see a lot of things. You see the Duomo, caves, wells, vineyards; experience wines and regional foods and the people who bring those things to your table. But there are other things, hidden things, that require you to pay closer attention to detail. Here are eight such things, some hidden in plain sight, some that need a little more sleuthing. In boca al lupo! (Good luck!)

Here’s an easy one to start. From just this spot you can see the Duomo, little Maurizio clanging the bell, and the Torre del Moro.

Pinocchio is Italian, so you will see him everywhere. But this particular Pinocchio invites company.

You will find the wood workings of Michelangeli all over town. This one is one of my favorites.

Now we’re getting into the things that require a little more attention. Some of these we see as part of our regular tour with Adventures in Italy, but others require you to slow down, to explore on your own perhaps in order to discover them.

Hidden in plain sight, we pass this door knocker every day but you might walk right by it.

This little guy has lots of friends around him, but you’ll have to go on a special expedition to locate him!

As with all angels, you must look up to find this beauty.

This one is kind of unfair, as the last time I went to visit the watermelon bench it was no longer in this spot. It’s one of my favorite things, and I was so happy to find it again after so many years. If YOU find it, please, please let me know!
If you’ve traveled with Adventures in Italy, did you slow down and see all of these things? If you’re planning on joining us for an upcoming adventure, be sure to make time to go on this little scavenger hunt!
