Slow Travel Tours Welcomes New Members
Slow Travel Tours welcomes three new members to our group! Our new members are Cotswold Walks, Cook in Tuscany, and French Country Adventures. These well-established, owner-operated travel businesses have great reputations and offer specialized small group tours in three different areas of Europe.
All the members of Slow Travel Tours invite you to join us when you’re ready to travel again. Even if you don’t plan to travel in 2020, now is the time to consider possibilities and book a trip for 2021.
Meet the new Slow Travel Tours members!
Americans George and Linda Meyers combine their love of food and travel with Cook in Tuscany. Based in the lovely hilltop village of Montefollonico in Tuscany’s southern wine country, they’ve been hosting week-long cooking programs for ten years.
They focus on traditional Tuscan cooking, and daily cooking lessons are taught by local Tuscan women. The program also includes tours of wineries and cheese makers, excursions to local and historic sites, and recreational activities. George and Linda also offer a cooking school outside Bordeaux, France.
Cotswold Walks was founded in 1993 and is owned and operated by Cotswolds residents Andrew and Elizabeth Guppy. Their company is the leading walking and hiking specialist in the Cotswolds, famous for its beautiful villages, outstanding rural scenery, and excellent walking.
Andrew and Elizabeth offer a variety of walking vacations in different areas of the Cotswolds: guided walking trips with a group, self-guided trips, short breaks, and bicycle trips. They can also organize luxury accommodations and customized trips.
Sue Aran moved from the USA to southwest France in 2006 and launched French Country Adventures in 2015. She offers deluxe, 10-day tours through the heart of Gascony, the Pays Basque, and Provence for individuals and small groups of up to six people. She also hosts day and weekend tours and offers shorter Armagnac tours in Gascony in November.
Sue’s tours embrace the magic of the French countryside, visiting medieval villages, enjoying rustic regional cuisine, and sampling local wines at family wineries. She embraces the slow travel philosophy “do less, experience more.”
